ERA Bus Tour
A ten-day bus tour started last Friday, the 9th, to support ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment. The ERA was passed in Congress in 1972 and has been stalled for many years. But with renewed interest it has passed in Illinois & Nevada. If it passes in Virginia it becomes part of the Constitution.
Delegate Jennifer Carroll Foy is part of the bipartisan push to ratify the amendment during this year’s legislative session.
“And it’s really clear. Equal means equal. So women need to be protected in the United States Constitution as equals. And that’s what we’re asking for, and that’s all,” says Carroll Foy. From a story on WVTF by Mallory Noe-Payne.
