Obama enters the fray

...It did not start with Donald Trump. He is a symptom, not the cause. He is just capitalizing on resentments that politicians have been fanning for years.
— Barack Obama, September 7, 2018

As you no doubt have heard, on September 7th President Barrack Obama gave an urgent and defining speech at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign campus. It’s well worth your time.

In it he called out Trump’s politics of “fear and resentment” and warned of the dangers to all of us if this kind of politics is not defeated at the ballot box.

An ABC news article reported, “In his Friday speech he addressed Republican proposed tax cuts, the economy, the failure to condemn white nationalists after the rally in Charlottesville and even the perceived disarray at the White House after an anonymous administration official said they were working to save the country from President Trump's worst impulses.”

With this speech, he signaled his intention to get seriously involved in the coming Midterms. The next day he headed to California to campaign for seven Democrats running there. The Midterms are less than 60 days away. Obama says you must vote, the Nelson County Democrats say you must vote. Get out there and vote on November 7.
