Regional Planning and Collaboration
I have been on the Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission (TJPDC) Board of Directors for 8 years. TJPDC provides collaborative solutions, services and grant opportunities to address regional and local planning and programs. Member localities include the City of Charlottesville and the Counties of Albemarle, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, and Nelson.
The Virginia Association of Counties (VACO) provide extensive and varied informational and educational services for County Staff, the Board of Supervisors and the Planning Commission. However, perhaps their most important role is to advocate and lobby our elected representatives in Richmond for the needs of Virginia’s counties. Steering committees consisting of local electives draft the legislative priorities. I serve on the VACO Agriculture and Rural Affairs and Education subcommittees.
