Letter from Our Chair
Early in-person voting continues on weekdays through Oct. 30 (except Oct. 12) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Nelson County Registrar’s Office, 571 Front St., Lovingston, and on the following weekend days:
Oct. 18 (Sunday) – 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Oct. 24 (Saturday) – 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Oct. 25 (Sunday) – 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Oct. 31 (Saturday) – 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (This is the last day to vote early in-person)
Oct. 23 (by 5 p.m.) – Last day to request that a ballot be mailed to you.
Oct. 23 – Last day to register or update your address to vote a regular ballot for the election. Voters may register in person after Oct. 23, through Election Day, and vote using a provisional ballot.
Nov. 3 (Election Day) – Vote at your polling place. Polls are open 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Take Nothing for Granted
In the last weeks of the Tom Perriello and Mark Warner campaigns, only one thing is for certain: We can’t presume anything. In order to lock in a win, none of us can sit on our hands or put forth less than a full effort.
Are you talking to your friends, urging them to vote for the Democratic ticket, the three constitutional amendments, and the 1% sales tax to help our schools?
Are you putting out signs for the candidates? Have you voted early? Are you offering your neighbors rides to the Nelson County Registrar’s Office during this early-voting period and to polling places on Election Day?
All of us need to keep our participation and energy at the highest level. And to those of you who have already voted and are putting in the work, thank you.
