The Nelson County Democratic Committee (NCDC) offers several volunteer opportunities so Democratic candidates win local, state, and national elections. We need you, we want you, plus we have lots of fun. Let us know how you want to be part of our winning team by sending an email to info@bluenelson.org.
Here are examples of how you can help Democrats win elections in Nelson County:
Canvassing.Going door-to-door during election season is the most effective way to connect with voters. Simply pick an area of Nelson County, and then NCDC provides you with the tools you need for fast and friendly conversations. Bring a friend along for the ride to explore our scenic County.
Poll greeters. As part of a team, greet voters on Election Day at your local precinct voting location. Or, you can greet voters during the six weeks of Early Voting before Election Day at the Nelson County Registrar’s Office in Lovingston.
Stickers and Signs. Proudly display a yard sign at home or a bumper sticker on your car supporting Democrats. We also have a limited number of huge, BLUE 4-foot by 8-foot signs available for high traffic spots.
Postcard Parties. Have fun writing postcards to Nelson County voters promoting Democrats – We provide the location plus delicious desserts.
Sign Waving. Join a team enthusiastically waving signs along Nelson County highways to show your support for Democrats and issues we believe are important.
Our Website. Please visit and share NCDC’s website with your friends, family, and neighbors. We also have a page dedicated to the new congressional districts.
Donations. In 2024, NCDC successfully turned Nelson County BLUE.
